I feel like I was just getting used to 2017 and now 2018 is right around the corner! Every time a new year comes around, I definitely try to set myself up to start the new year successfully. Tonight, I am sharing with you my top three ways I get ready for a new year.
1. Cleanse and Organize
The best way to start a new year is to simplify all your things. I like to go through my entire place, taking a different day for a different area, and pretty much clean it all out. I make a pile for things that I am going to throw away, things I am going to donate/sell, and then the things I am going to keep. My purses are definitely a big part of this cleansing and my closet definitely takes a full week for this LOL. After cleansing out the area, I will organize, organize, organize. By making all the areas in my home simplified and organized, it makes starting the new year much easier. I will be doing posts all about how I organize different areas of home starting in the new year, so make sure to keep an eye out for those if you are needing some tips!
2. Deep Clean
Just like spring cleaning, cleaning your home thoroughly from top to bottom is very necessary at least twice a year. For me, I deep clean it once in the spring and once before the new year. If I have time, I will do it in the summer as well. This means cleaning the baseboards, the top of shelves, and all those other areas. The worst but you will feel much better after you do!
3. Make a List and Keep it in Your Bag
One of my favorite and most important things to do at the start of each year is make a list of my main goals for the year ahead. I am a very visual person, so by writing down the goals (big and small) that I want to reach in 2018 is a daily reminder and helps me achieve them easier. I will also write out a few plans, ways that I will reach that goal and keep it in my bag to reference to. I promise by writing down your goals and checking back everyday, you will achieve that goal much faster!
